Debate Team
About
Overview:
Debate Team at Georgia Tech competes in various forms of Speech and Debate, in addition to offering General Body meetings which occasionally serve as forums for the discussion of ideas. Our team is devolved into two subteams, "Speech Team" and "Public Debate Team," who have their own dedicated subteam scrimmage meetings separate from our overall General Body Meetings. Subteam meetings are dedicated to teaching various structured formats of Speech and Debate, as well as preparing for upcoming Tournaments. General Body meetings often see less structured forms of Speech and Debate where members are invited to suspend the usual restrictions of a format structure. We also often host workshops in Speech and Debate as part of our General Body meetings. This system allows members to select to attend any combination of Speech, Debate, and General Body meetings. Finally, we do not require dues.
