Drone, Radio control, and Experimental Aircraft Club at Georgia Tech
About
The purpose of DRXC is to promote radio-controlled multirotor and fixed-wing design, building, and flight as a hobby among students at Georgia Tech and to support radio-controlled aircraft competition teams such as the Design-Build Vertical Flight Team started last year. DRXC is a chartered chapter of the Academy of Model Aviation, allowing us to maintain good standing with the FAA and other organizations that regulate drone use/ flight cost-effectively.
DRXC hosts the Design, Build, Vertical Flight (DBVF) Competition team. This competition tasks teams with designing and building a VTOL aircraft capable of completing a specific mission. This year, the mission is designed to simulate supply delivery to support forest firefighting. We are excited to compete this year after getting third place in our first year participating in the competition.
