Pride Alliance
About
Overview
Pride Alliance places emphasis on community building, activism, and providing safe spaces to all in the LGBTQIA+ community. The organization continually strives for progress and the inclusion of all identities in all spaces. In a society that is becoming increasingly aware of its diverse elements, Pride Alliance provides a space for dialogue and the enhancement of understanding among the members of the Georgia Tech community concerning issues faced by gender and sexual identity minorities.
Pride Alliance provides members who identify as LGBTQIA+ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, questioning, intersex, asexual, aromantic, and others) and their allies an organization where they can develop and cultivate a positive self-awareness. Pride Alliance has recently worked for specific LGBTQIA+ non-discrimination policy, gender inclusive housing and restroom policies, and social events for both members and outsiders. Pride Alliance is committed to serving the LGBTQIA+ people of The Georgia Institute of Technology.
Mission Statement
Pride Alliance strives to provide a supportive and educational environment for both members and non-members of the LGBTQIA+ community; to function as a resource for those who want and/or need information about LGBTQIA related issues; and to provide a positive LGBTQIA awareness and presence in Georgia Tech. We host a variety of fun events, informative discussions, and collaborations with other student organizations on campus.

Pride Alliance × Georgia Tech’s Motto of Progress & Service
- Pride Alliance exhibits Progress & Service by continuing to advocate for the progression of society towards the acceptance and celebration of all in the LGBTQIA+ community. It is important to give back to our community through service trips, volunteering, and through the promotion of the myriad of resources available at Georgia Tech. In order to fulfill our mission to promote inclusion of all identities in all spaces, progress and service must be a part of our daily operations.
Member Impact Anecdotes
"When I first came to Tech, I was still very new to the LGBT+ community (I'm a baby gay). Pride Alliance not only gave me the opportunity to meet more queer people like myself, it also helped educate me and engaged me further into the LGBT+ community. I've felt more comfortable in my sexuality since I've known about GT Pride Alliance, and the comfort and enjoyment I get from being a member encouraged me to run for an exec position! I hope to provide the same enjoyment and comfort I received to all new and existing members."
~ Jaden West, CS, Class of 2022
"Pride Alliance has been an extremely positive experience for me. As someone who didn't know any LGBTQ people before coming to Tech, Pride Alliance gave me a safe space to explore my identity and find community. I met many of my closest friends at Pride Alliance events, and I have been able to meet great role models and learn a lot from older students. Pride Alliance means a lot to me because of the comfort and fun it provided me with as a new member of the community."
